Although North East India has some of the highest concentrations of Christians in India, their stories remain vastly unheralded outside the region. And the stories of the Christians in the region had largely been written by the missionaries from outside and the elite Christians from within, which tend to focus on the triumphal side of Christianity. History of Christianity: A Subaltern Perspective is a bold attempt by young historians of the region to write and rewrite the history of Christianity in North East India, focussing on the lesser known side of the story, that is often neglected in traditional histories. It offers a fresh approach to the story of Christians, especially those who are often left out or unfairly represented in other works.
