The book entitled Senior Citizens: Mature & Glorious Period in Human Life has been written to energize the seniors by helping them to approach life in new perspectives and to lead a fruitful life. It has 10 chapters dealing with human life cycle, health, food, role of society etc. in molding human life. The book also deals with the part played by the government in helping the senior citizens as well as the educational programs for them. There are some meditations also for the senior citizens to help them ponder over and lead a meaningful life.
Padmabhushan Justice Sri K T Thomas writes in his foreword as follows: The endeavor made by Rev. Dr. Abraham Philip projects extension of the privileges of senior citizens. In my younger days a man attaining 60 years was considered a rare phenomenon. His family members regarded that age as a signal of reaching the final phase of his life…. The author of this book, Rev. Dr. Abraham Philip, is a senior citizen born in 1954. He did his studies at Perumbavoor Asram High School, Aluva U. C. College (M. A.), Jabalpur L. T. College (B. D.), Oxford Wycliffe Hall (M.Phil), Bangalore U. T. College, SATHRI, Kottayam FFRRC under Serampore University (Doctorate in Theology). After ordination in the Marthoma Church in 1979, he served in parishes at Bombay, Calcutta, Trivandrum, Kottayam and New Delhi. During 1989-94, he served as the Director of Dr. Thomas Mar Athanasius Memorial Orientation Centre, Manganam, Kottayam. He was visiting Professor at MSOT Seminary, Mulanthuruthy (1993-96; 2001-02), and Professor at Marthoma Theological Seminary, Kottayam (2001-06; 2008-19), and at FFRRC (2003 25). During these years he had the privilege to be the editor of several magazines, journals and books. He has authored 36 books by now.
