The Gospel of Luke presents Jesus as the Savior for all humanity, weaving together history, theology, and narrative artistry. This book offers a comprehensive exploration of Luke’s Gospel, engaging with its infancy accounts, the ministry of John the Baptist, the Beatitudes and woes, parables, miracles, discipleship, and the passion-resurrection narratives. Drawing on both classical and recent scholarship, it provides fresh insights into Luke’s distinctive theological emphases—universal salvation, reversal of values, inclusivity, and God’s liberating mission.

The study critically surveys key debates in Lukan research from the mid-20th century to the present, situating Luke within his Jewish and Greco-Roman contexts while highlighting the Gospel’s continuing relevance for the church and society today. Special attention is given to Luke’s treatment of wealth and poverty, table fellowship, women, and hospitality, as well as his portrayal of Jesus’ miracles and teachings on discipleship and leadership.

Written with scholarly rigor and pastoral sensitivity, this volume is both an academic contribution and a resource for pastors, students, and Christian leaders who seek to understand Luke’s Gospel more deeply. It invites readers to encounter Luke not only as history and theology but also as a call to radical discipleship, social engagement, and hope-filled witness in the contemporary world.
