Scripture is a living text whose meaning unfolds dialogically, shaped by the questions readers bring and by the contexts in which interpretation takes place. This book, Scripture in Dialogue: Hermeneutical, Theological, and Ethical Explorations from Indian and Global Perspectives, emerges from a sustained conviction that the Bible is never read in isolation but always in conversation with cultures, histories, intellectual traditions, social locations, and concrete human struggles. This volume seeks to contribute to contemporary biblical scholarship by foregrounding dialogue as both a method and an ethos of interpretation. In an era marked by digital transformation, social fragmentation, global crises, and renewed struggles for dignity and justice, the task of biblical interpretation demands renewed methodological clarity, contextual sensitivity, and ethical responsibility.

This book brings together a range of essays that reflect long-term academic engagement with biblical hermeneutics, theology, and ethics, particularly from Indian and other non-Western perspectives, while remaining in critical conversation with global biblical scholarship. The volume is intentionally interdisciplinary, drawing upon biblical studies, theology, philosophy, ethics, cultural studies, and social analysis. Its overarching aim is not merely to interpret biblical texts but to explore how Scripture functions as a transformative discourse within concrete historical realities. In this sense, the work aligns itself with hermeneutical traditions that view interpretation as a praxis oriented activity, one that seeks understanding not as an end in itself, but as a catalyst for responsible action in the world.
