Spanning over a thousand years from Homer to Saint Augustine, Classical Thought continue to encompass a vast range of material from all disciplines and areas in succinct style, while at the same time remaining clear and lucid even to those with no philosophical or Classical background. Likewise, philosophy of education continues to vibrate, illumine and thus brings sparkles to the learners more in 20th Century, although it is laid on philosophical foundations over thousand years. Along these components moral philosophy has always been playing a vital role cementing these two major areas together in practical aspects.
Ethics thus undergirds education and edification. For practical purposes especially when we are forced to making decision on different things we are confronted with these binaries and polar opposites such as rights and wrong, good and bad, just and unjust, fair and unfair, moral and immoral. The emphasis is naturally on questions of the bases and systems on which decision are taken and thus made. As against this background this volume emerged. Three E’s – Ethics, Education, and Edification – the triune pillars holding on to the major-spectrum of knowledge -- philosophy of mind, philosophy of education, philosophical theology and moral theology vis-à-vis Christian ethics are foundational for life and living. All this is presented and responded by employing against the issues in a fully integrated, highly readable text which covers many of the most crucial areas of present thought and in which responses are offered on a variety of issues as well as continuity of ethical thinking since Socrates.
