The Festschrift, Thinking and Believing: Beyond Boundaries, is an expression of the recognition and appreciation by some of the colleagues and students of Dr Thomas Kalary MSFS, an expert in the philosophy of Heidegger, for his exemplary passion for philosophy made visible through his scholarly philosophical writings, insightful lectures, and challenging and inspiring conversations on philosophical themes for more than a quarter of a century. This theme of this Festschrift, Thinking and Believing: Beyond Boundaries, is very relevant. In fact, it provokes far greater profundity in our age of religious fanaticism and bigotry. Human beings are interdependent and self-transcendent. As humans, each of us possesses the capacity to transcend oneself, contribute to the lives of others, and make a beautiful human community. The more we transcend ourselves, the closer we come to the divine encounter! The articles of this Festschrift invite the readers to think and believe beyond the boundaries they have set for themselves!
